Susu Bobien carries a church-singing background into house music. Raised in Newark, New Jersey, she began singing in church at five, and gospel remains central to her vocal work. You Don't Know and Praise Always are part of a catalogue that places devotional singing in a club setting, alongside collaborations such as Wondrous with Danny Clark and Jay Benham.
Her work with Quantize Recordings continues that connection. Help Is On The Way pairs her voice with Earl Tutu's keys and John Khan's drums, while Truly Amazing has appeared in versions by DJ Spen and Reelsoul. Terrence Parker selected the latter for a feature on gospel house, highlighting her place in the meeting of those two traditions.
