Rheji Burrell

A true master of New York house, Rheji Burrell is back with a three-track EP on the legendary imprint that started it all; Nu Groove Records. Together with his twin Rhano, the Burrell brothers were instrumental in defining the sound of Nu Groove, often releasing under a slew of monikers and eventually progressing to R&B productions for icons such as Toni Braxton and the late Aaliyah. As a solo artist, Rheji returns to the NYC imprint in full form with three house originals. The title track ‘XTC’ is unmistakably Burrell in its composition, with an irresistible 4/4 groove and all-out R&B vocal. What follows are the sunshine soundscapes and sugar-sweet keys of ‘Gimme Ya Luv’ containing all the nostalgia and lovesickness of a 90’s NY classic, before the seductive, suave ‘I’m In Lust’ closes out this release in style.
