Harrison Morris

We go deep Down Under with this spaced out new EP from Harrison Morris. The Australian producer caught our ear the moment we heard his music, which is both emotive and cosmic and composed with panache by Harrison. Parallel to his love for music he was working in film production and the arrangement of his tracks definitely feels cinematic at times. We’re very pleased to have Harrison Morris on board for LVR025, and all four of his tracks offer something a little bit different for the dance floor lovers….

On the A-side Harrison gets to work with the title track ‘Displace’, a smooth trippy slice of interstellar funk which acts as the perfect introduction to his sound. It lures you in to a mysterious world beyond our universe, light years away, with its globulous analogue and a simmering b-line conjuring up images of space stations and astronauts drifting through deep space.

Then we have ‘Playing Tourist’, a more uptempo cut with razor sharp percussion, punchy beats and an uber groovy low end that will take your hips to another dimension. Wait for that breakdown, oo la la!

On the flipside Harrison takes us ever deeper into the cosmos with ‘Southerner’, way out there to unexplored corners of the multiverse. The atmosphere is sultry and woozy, there’s a hint of sensuality about it with hushed female vocal and a rhythm that feels as though it was created for baby making. Lastly, ‘Transfix’ closes the EP by shrouding us in darkness, the spine-tingling atmospherics are guaranteed to rouse the dance floor and its groove will leave you insatiable… magnifique.
