Established in 1999 and now resembling more of a music media group with the label as its epicentre, the recipe for Defected Records’ success over the last 25 years has been its ability to evolve and adapt within the industry, while maintaining robust cultural values and musical identity. One of the longest running independent labels of its kind, Defected continues to advocate tirelessly for the cultural impact of house music in the UK and remains a well-respected constant in the music industry as it enters its next 25 years in business.

With an online community of over 12 million, Defected was one of the first house labels to embrace digital technologies and continues to be at the forefront of digital innovations, while cultivating a uniquely engaged audience, by far the largest of its kind. 2024 saw Defected expand its offerings with the collaborative Together series, ambitious livestreams, a world tour and limited-edition merch including ‘Defected: 25 Years In The House’, a 320-page hardback offering a “refreshingly candid insight into the moments that have defined the label’s history” - Clash Magazine. Yoruba Records has been a force in the dance music scene since its first release in 1999. Operated by acclaimed artist, producer Osunlade. Yoruba was founded on the ideals of the beliefs of Ifa and has given us some of the most consistent and diverse music ranging from deep house to soulful jazz. The focus is always great song writing and uncompromising production. Although dance has been its core in the past, the label has stretched out and experimented with jazz, soul and alternative electronic releases. Still considered the go to label for simply good music, Yoruba has survived and transformed as the times change. With an array of artists offering completely different styles, Yoruba is about integrity. From conception, the label’s spiritual connection has been its priority. Guided by the energies and vibrations allowing ones passion to create not only classics but honest music that reflect the soul of each artist. With more than 300 releases we continue to push the boundaries within ourselves and hope the music follows suit.

Moulton Music is a collaboration of artists obsessed with both the future and past of house music.  Being run by producers and music-makers, our output is varied, ranging from deep house to soul to jackin' disco, but always with a sense of historical perspective and an ear for fine-tuned production, as well as a deep connection to the dancefloor.  We're based around San Francisco's legendary Moulton Studios, where most of the production takes place, but our friends and collaborators stretch far and wide. 

There are many people involved, but our core consists of Chris Lum and David Harness (who together form Harlum Muziq), as well as Homero Espinosa and Allen Craig (both formerly of Yerba Buena Discos), along with San Francisco cult favorite DJ's Sergio Fedasz and Ivan Ruiz, and producer and marketing guru Anish Acharya (of Dream In Audio).  Of course, we have many more friends and compatriots when you include all the people involved in our regular Molton Sessions underground house party, our various club nights, and the rest of the artists and remixers on the label, but it's that spirit of collaboration, along with our past-meets-future musical values, which defines Moulton Music.
