Oomph

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.

Glasgow Underground

New label set up by Sam Young aka Vanilla ACE aka Sammy Deuce. The label will be home to Vanilla ACE releases and for tracks that Sam see's fit for the label, mainly music for the clubs and underground scene. 
Sam has DJ'd for over 20 years, being resident DJ at many London clubs and playing all over the world with his Vanilla ACE alias. He has released on labels such as Toolroom, Suara, Club Sweat, Nervous, Bunny Tiger, Ministry of Sound, Elrow, Loulou, Hot Boi, Big Beat/Atlantic, FFRR, Glasgow Underground, Spinnin Deep, Safe Music to name a few.

The label also continued to release genre-defining successes including Purple Disco Machine, Oden & Fatzo and delivering a multi-single deal with British icon Idris Elba as IDRIS.

Defected runs events globally, from standalone club nights and festival stages to its many Ibiza residencies since 2003; summer of 2024 saw Defected, Glitterbox and D4 D4NCE hold three lengthy residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza, Hï Ibiza and O Beach Ibiza respectively. The group’s festival portfolio includes Defected Croatia, a flagship event that draws more than 5,000 people from all over the world annually, as well as Defected Malta and various other large capacity events and new ventures into Dubai. Born from the friendship between Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter, Classic is above all else a “family” label; an assembly of diverse artists who refute convention but share in the motivation to satisfy only their own artistic intentions. Creating a platform to share their left-of-centre house selections with the world, Classic began in 1994 as a vinyl imprint, starting at catalogue #100 and counting backwards to zero. Once at zero, Classic retreated briefly before coming back stronger, wonkier and with extended family in tow.
