Every artist leaves a mark, and Mihai Popoviciu’s is unmistakable. For almost two decades, the Romanian producer and DJ has crafted a signature style—deep, hypnotic grooves, pinpoint precision, and an energy that commands the dancefloor.
Growing up in Sibiu (Romania), a city far removed from Europe’s electronic epicenters, Mihai’s passion for house and techno was born in isolation. The ‘90s saw London, Berlin, and Ibiza booming with dance music, while he was left scavenging for whatever sounds he could find. “We’d record German TV shows onto cassette and play them on repeat,” he recalls.

With no club scene in sight, Mihai’s DJ dreams seemed like a long shot. “I couldn’t DJ because there were no clubs,” he laughs. But software was within reach, so he made music. Refining his sound track after track, in 2005, his music found a home on International Deejay Gigolo. From there, he became a fixture on labels like Highgrade, Poker Flat, Bondage Music, Berg Audio, and his own imprint, Cyclic, founded in 2012.

Patience and persistence paid off. Once purely a producer, Mihai soon stepped behind the decks, learning the art of DJing on borrowed turntables. His transition from the studio to the club was seamless. Soon, the world took notice. Over the past decade, Mihai Popoviciu has solidified his status as a leading figure in the electronic music scene. Now, his name graces the lineups of the most revered clubs and festivals worldwide.

Mihai’s mission is simple: to share the joy and energy that fuel his passion. “Seeing people dance, smile, and lose themselves in the music—that’s what it’s all about.”

Whether commanding an underground club or a festival stage, Mihai’s sound remains unmistakable. “He had it from the start,” says friend and agent Benny Grauer. “You always know when it’s Mihai. And it’s always on point.”

Now very much a key part of today’s house scene with a sound that is all his own, Stussy’s rise has taken him firmly into the spotlight as one of the scene’s most exciting names, and the Dutch wonderkid is only just getting started…

A long-standing love of early house music, but also raw production aesthetics and an understanding of jazz, disco and Chicago styles feed into his own unique take on the genre. As such, his sublime late-night cuts via the likes of Djebali, Moscow, Eastenderz, LOCUS, and PIV, where he is also charged with spotting new talent as the in-house A&R, often come with bumping drums and a bassline that is superbly slick and supple, whilst remixes for artists including the one and only Kerri Chandler welcome smart vocal samples and lush synth colours which add to the allure of his most seductive and warm house grooves.

As a DJ, Stussy is just as widely informed and draws on styles to suit the many different settings in which he plays. Main stages at Awakenings through to cult underground clubs such as Watergate (Berlin), fabric (London), Fuse (Brussels) and Elrow (Barcelona) all come under his spell in equally memorable ways, with tours of Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South America already in the books, plus regular appearances across Amsterdam’s finest venues. From long, slow, deep and tension building mixes to more high impact, quick chops and high energy cuts, he is a versatile selector who is always on the move.

And yet, after countless #1’s Stussy still continues to serve up heat at an alarming rate. Add to the mix the highly-anticipated launch of his own label ‘Up The Stuss’ - a vinyl-driven outlet for both Stussy and close friends and colleagues to release forward thinking, timeless club-driven productions from across the electronic sphere - and you begin to gain an understanding of just how well-rounded he is not only as an artist, but also as an A&R and a label owner. Alex Ranerro is an DJ / producer from Slovenia. He always listened to various musical genres, gaining musical perspective from the early hip hop records and soulful r’n’b songs to a bit more classical house music anthems. That slowly lead to discovering electronic music and the productional part of it.Alex released his first track back in 2011 on Umek’s imprint 1605 Music Therapy, which instantly hit the Beatport top 100 techno chart. Since that, he’s been releasing regularly on notable labels like Bedrock Records, Glasgow Underground, Simma Black, UNDR THE RADR, MadTech, Great Stuff and others. His music was played by some of the best artists in the industry such as John Digweed, Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Darius Syrossian, Uner, Umek and others.Alex’s musical output is embossed by his versatility as a music producer and DJ and cannot be pinned down to a single genre. Some of his own productions go way deeper, others are more targeted at the peak time, but there is a constant to all of them; it has got to be groovy and it needs emotion. Born in Arnhem (NL), raised on early 90’s hiphop in Nijmegen. As a kid, always drawn to making mixtapes and fiddling around with the old records in the attic, but never realizing he’d be ending up creating music and playing records. His passion for movies and hiphop kept him occupied. It took a giant (first) rave on his 18th birthday to see the real potential of house music and his objective was clear. In the years following he got the chance to warm up crowds on a regular basis at the legendary Planet Rose clubnights, which made his hometown Nijmegen an excellent place to develop his skills as a warm up DJ and to obtain a broad taste in music. The dutch town always had a strong history in electronic music, but remained small enough not to be influenced by trends or hypes: a perfect spot to create your own sound and identity, playing alongside the greats.

After his first solo releases on the local Wolfskuil Records he co-founded ESHU in 2011. Recognision came after a string of well received solo releases on Fear Of Flying Records (and sub-label SuddenDrop), as well as many collaborations . A few years down the line it was time for a new direction which resulted in starting his own label OGUN Records and a few monikers to provide him with the creative freedom he was looking for. Since he joined Paris based Yoyaku he released music on Joule Imprint, Aku, Yoyaku and on the renowned label Sushitech.
