Ramon Tapia was born and raised in Holland, with a Dutch mother and Chilean father – his upbringing had an eclectic mix of cultures which in turn developed and influenced his decision to become a musician.

In 2023 Ramon entered into the Raw Techno techno Top 10 charts with a bang, like his collaboration with Gaston Zani ‘Friction’ on Planet Rhtyhm and ‘Circular’ on Christian Smith’s  Tronic Music in 2024 .

Working in his teen years in Antwerp’s famous record store ‘USA import’ he sculpted a broad taste in music and his production skills along the way gradually learning how to produce tracks solo, with a solid foundation in pounding techno and hardcore scene.

He found his resurgence in the 00’s, forging a new school techno sound with his release ‘Land Of Drum’ on Pocket the sublabel of Music Man, a release on Gayle San’s label Equator and more house styled tracks on New York’s legendary Strictly Rhythm label. That's where his name catapulted into the limelight, becoming the biggest turning point for his career, resulting in a residency at Sankey’s Ibiza for three years, multiple bookings around the globe, rapidly growing loyal fan base and global recognition.

With an impressive collection of releases on some of the biggest labels, Ramon started his very own imprint - Say What? Records in 2012. The label delivers a proper dancefloor-ready Techno from respected names and new kids pulling the wagon for the new generation under Ramon’s supervision.

Patience is a virtue, and it’s one that will reward you greatly when listening to Ed Ed’s new releases on labels like Get Physical, Exploited, Watergate records, Moodmusic and many more….. Building in a considered and engrossing manner, his DJ mixes  will suck you in, spit you out and leave you a sweaty, elated mess.

Bass groove twangs and rasps over a snappy beat, with a minimal approach to the accompaniments opted for at first. Pitched down vocals add a haunting layers, and deep in the mix a droning techno synth rises and falls. Dashes of scintillating melodic scales work their way into the mix, heavily reverberated into the background. Next, a pizzicato style blip riff passes through the track. Stabs pepper the track with more rhythmic intent, their tails extended here and there to draw them out further and deeper. It’s a plain fact - close friends and production / DJ partners Grzegorz and Wojciech are enjoying a stellar and prolific career as the house outfit Catz ’n Dogz. Working their way up from humble beginnings, they now deliver constant DJ shows at the hottest venues across the globe and killer EPs and remixes with the biggest labels on the scene including Defected, Dirtybird and Cocoon, while their fourth full-length studio album ‘Friendship’ was released just last year on their own Pets Recordings. As well as the underground scene the duo have also broken onto the bigger global stage through remixes and collaborations with names like The Chemical Brothers, Roisin Murphy and Disclosure.
