Bio

Kriece came to production through the Australian DJ circuit, and his records have retained an interest in the less predictable edges of house and techno. A reworking of Aphex Twin’s Windowlicker reached a wider audience through James Zabiela’s Renaissance:Utilities mix, beginning one of several important creative connections. With Zabiela and Jeff Bennett he formed The Flying Doctors, whose We Make Contact launched his Kindred Sounds label in 2005. He subsequently recorded for 20:20 Vision and developed a family of imprints including Spinifex. His work is not confined to clubs: the 2008 Cosmix project with Ram Dass placed spoken material in a downtempo musical setting, showing another side of his production practice.
