Always refusing to stay in one sonic niche for too long, Huxley – whether working solo or with collaborators – switches up his sound, tries new things and colours outside the lines with every new outing. Not afraid of a big hook or slaying bass line, he is an artist who unites a variety of sounds, styles and scenes with ease, and always proves as fun as he is well informed. As a Dj, Huxley is someone as comfortable headlining a vast festival stage as he is holding down a small and sweaty basement. Every artist leaves a mark, and Mihai Popoviciu’s is unmistakable. For almost two decades, the Romanian producer and DJ has crafted a signature style—deep, hypnotic grooves, pinpoint precision, and an energy that commands the dancefloor.
Growing up in Sibiu (Romania), a city far removed from Europe’s electronic epicenters, Mihai’s passion for house and techno was born in isolation. The ‘90s saw London, Berlin, and Ibiza booming with dance music, while he was left scavenging for whatever sounds he could find. “We’d record German TV shows onto cassette and play them on repeat,” he recalls.

With no club scene in sight, Mihai’s DJ dreams seemed like a long shot. “I couldn’t DJ because there were no clubs,” he laughs. But software was within reach, so he made music. Refining his sound track after track, in 2005, his music found a home on International Deejay Gigolo. From there, he became a fixture on labels like Highgrade, Poker Flat, Bondage Music, Berg Audio, and his own imprint, Cyclic, founded in 2012.

Patience and persistence paid off. Once purely a producer, Mihai soon stepped behind the decks, learning the art of DJing on borrowed turntables. His transition from the studio to the club was seamless. Soon, the world took notice. Over the past decade, Mihai Popoviciu has solidified his status as a leading figure in the electronic music scene. Now, his name graces the lineups of the most revered clubs and festivals worldwide.

Mihai’s mission is simple: to share the joy and energy that fuel his passion. “Seeing people dance, smile, and lose themselves in the music—that’s what it’s all about.”

Whether commanding an underground club or a festival stage, Mihai’s sound remains unmistakable. “He had it from the start,” says friend and agent Benny Grauer. “You always know when it’s Mihai. And it’s always on point.”

But Sidney Charles in his age of twenty-something already looks into many happy faces, when he enters the decks. Everybody, who understands this love-binding kind of music, has to live the urban movement behind it, the culture that brings people of all kinds together. Exactly these motions are fascinating the young man, born as Sidney Charles Hurricane Vieljans in Hamburg, Germany.

With the age of 15 Sidney Charles discovered the magic of the two black discs spinning on the 1210s. At the beginning Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Breakbeat and Turntablism was Sidney´s medium to express his emotions. Highly delighted and inspirited by the time of late 80s and early 90s, when the movement, accompanied by young culture, began, Sidney Charles was finding the higher BPM-numbers of House & Techno were leading to more inspiration and happiness.

He is not a musician, nor a percussionist. He is a collector. A collector of culture and experiences. The energy and feeling around the music is what makes the difference and letting Sidney Charles not be one of manys.
