Louie Cut is a Lisbon-based DJ and producer whose minimal techno and house draw much of their character from funk. He pairs older dance-music influences with contemporary sound design, keeping the groove at the centre of both his tracks and DJ sets. He founded Strict Recordings in 2011 as a home for his own music and other producers working in the darker, funkier corners of minimal techno. Collaborations with Alex Stein and Avrosse form part of a career that has taken him to clubs and festivals across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia. His interests also extend beyond Strict: in 2018 he started Rare Youth, bringing house music, underground events and clothing design into the same project.
