Bio

Krewcial is Pascal Garnier, a Ghent-based beatmaker, producer, MC and DJ whose musical life began in hip-hop. Active under the name since 1993, he has released through BBE, PIAS and Blue Note, later extending his work into disco and soulful house with We Play House and Local Talk. His Second Life EP brought live jazz musicians into house arrangements, with Garnier himself contributing vocals to Roll Call. That interest in hip-hop history also extends beyond records: he directed A Hip Hop Minute, revisiting artists featured in the 1986 documentary Big Fun in the Big Town. Across these roles, sampling and record culture remain important to his musical practice.
