Bio
ANOTR began with friendship before strategy. Jesse van der Heijden and Oguzhan “Oz” Guney met as teenagers on Amsterdam’s north side, bonded over jokes and music, and started producing together while still learning what each could do. Early releases placed them in tech house, but the duo gradually widened the frame to include live instruments, soul, disco and looser song structures. Their No Art project evolved alongside that shift, expanding from a label into events and visual culture intended to place music beside forms of art their audience might not otherwise encounter. Creative retreats have become part of ANOTR’s process: the pair leave phones and daily routines behind, bring instruments and friends to a remote house, and build tracks through long communal jams. That method shaped the 2025 album “On a Trip”. ANOTR’s house music is therefore less about a fixed studio formula than trust—between two producers, their collaborators and a crowd willing to follow unexpected turns.
