About Byron the Aquarius

Bio

Byron the Aquarius brings a jazz pianist's understanding of melody and harmony into house music. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, and connected to Atlanta's scene, he treats the keyboard as a starting point for composition, with feeling and lived experience guiding the music more than changing trends. Releases through Theo Parrish's Sound Signature and Kyle Hall's Wild Oats linked that approach with Detroit-rooted house. Leaving This Planet brought him to Eglo, while work for Phonogramme includes an explicit tribute to George Duke. His recordings keep a connection between the expressive possibilities of jazz playing and the recurring rhythms of a club track.
