Silence Groove makes drum & bass with a close ear for atmosphere and the small details inside a breakbeat. Polish producer Jakub Cichocki draws on ambient, downtempo and techno as well as the genre’s own traditions, combining organic samples with synthesised textures and melodies that often carry a reflective mood. The music is intended to hold up at home as well as in a club, with space and restraint as important as momentum. An early partnership with Skeletone led to Love You Lose on Soul Deep in 2011, followed by a lasting connection with Offworld. Work for Integral, Doc Scott’s 31 and Seba’s Secret Operations has since placed his sound across several distinct corners of drum & bass, without making it any less personal.
