Bio

Michael Coninx spent five years behind the counter of a record shop, a job he told Decoded Magazine in 2014 had quickened his development as a listener and as a producer. He had started DJing as a teenager in Genk, the Limburg town in eastern Belgium where he grew up, and by his own account taught himself to produce from 2002, building a track outward from a synth sound or a melody found on the keys before the rhythm and the arrangement arrived. Under the name Hermanez he released through Noir and Suara, and in that same 2014 conversation described six years of playing Antwerp's Café d'Anvers, latterly with a monthly night of long sets. His later work turned toward organic house and All Day I Dream, whose 2026 winter sampler carries him.
