Technasia brings a performer's energy to melodic, rhythmically detailed techno. Founded by Charles Siegling and Amil Khan in 1996, the project began through a connection between Paris and Hong Kong. Siegling had travelled to Asia with an interest in cinema; a shared enthusiasm for electronic music led to the partnership and, later, their Sino label.
Albums such as Future Mix and Popsoda established a recording identity alongside live shows and three-deck DJ sets. After Khan left the project, Siegling continued alone, carrying that history into Central and later records including Heart of Flesh and Suga with Green Velvet. His performances have reached Fuse, WOMB, Rex Club, fabric and Space Ibiza, as well as Time Warp and Awakenings.
Sino also provided a platform for artists including Joris Voorn, Renato Cohen and Dosem. That interest in individual talent parallels Siegling's own view of album-making: giving ideas time to develop matters more than maintaining a constant flow of product. Based in Paris, he continues to connect that patient studio work with the immediacy of playing to a crowd.
