Bio

In Apollonia, the trio he formed in 2012 with Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom, Shonky plays a single record and then hands on. The order is fixed, Ghenacia then Shonky then Soundorom, and it holds for the whole night, through sets that can stretch well past five hours. Shonky has said the arrangement gives the night a steady pulse, because each of them always knows his turn is approaching. He is French and built his name in the Paris clubs, though he had moved his base to Berlin by 2012. His earliest records went out through Ghenacia's Freak n' Chic, and away from the trio he made Le Velour for Franck Roger's Real Tone Records, remixed there by Larry Heard, Delano Smith and The Martinez Brothers.
