Bio

An Adriatique X show can involve a sixteen-person production and video team, with musical moments carefully time-coded to the visuals. The scale is far removed from Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer’s first studio sessions in Zürich: the two DJs met after sharing a bill, discovered that they also shared a first name, and began experimenting together after hours. They committed to Adriatique in 2009, developing a sound that could move between house, techno and more melodic forms without dividing their roles into obvious halves. Releases for Diynamic, Cityfox and Afterlife led to the 2018 debut album Nude. Two years earlier, the pair had founded Siamese as an independent label and wider art platform; X later extended that thinking into audiovisual events and releases. In a 2025 interview, they described those productions as a balance between futurist ideas and physical limits—stage design, budget, weather and logistics all shaping what the audience finally sees.
