Bio

Per Hammar likes club music with fingerprints on it. The Swedish producer has described dust, distortion and tape among his inspirations, and calls his Dirty Hands label a safe house for work that is ugly, imperfect or unwilling to be polished. That philosophy grew out of Malmö’s local scene. After moving there in 2007, he handed out mix CDs, organised parties in a squatted house and eventually founded the Kiloton night in 2010. Dirty Hands followed as an outlet for his dubby, rolling productions, alongside 10YEARS and the De Vloer collaboration with Malin Génie. Hammar has said a track is truly finished when he can play it out without wanting to abandon the party and rush back to fix it—a neat summary of how closely his studio and DJ practice are linked.
