Bio

Ale Castro works across several shades of house, with disco, garage and deeper influences sharing space in his productions. The Argentine artist, based in Berlin, also records as Slow Disko, Rhythm & Substance and CSTR, with label connections including Housewax, Avotre, Bar 25 and Savor Music. Love & Loops gives his own musical choices an independent home. The vinyl label grew partly from the difficulty of finding a place for records that drew contradictory responses from other labels. Castro wanted an outlet for his interpretation of house, with room for friends and less familiar producers too. His studio process is similarly selective: he tests a track before deciding whether to finish it, and an abandoned sketch may still contribute sounds to another production. Running a label and reconsidering unfinished music are both ways of keeping that process open.
