Bio

Before international bookings, Darius Syrossian spent roughly fifteen years behind the counters of Leeds record shops, including Global Beat and Crash Records. He has repeatedly described that period as his real musical education: nine-hour days of listening, recommending records and learning what made different customers respond. It also left him with thousands of records and a preference for DJ sets that develop over time rather than rush from drop to drop. Syrossian began collecting and mixing in the mid-1990s, later becoming closely associated with residencies and extended sets. In 2018 he launched Moxy Muzik as both a label and a club concept, favouring intimate rooms, local warm-up talent and house music with enough depth to outlast a social-media clip. His productions share that resident-DJ logic—rhythmic, direct and tested for long transitions—while Moxy provides a home for new artists as well as his own releases.
