Oliver Schories’s first electronic reference point arrived on a copied cassette. Growing up in Bremen without a CD player, he asked a friend to tape The Prodigy’s “Experience,” an early encounter that sat alongside punk and alternative music before club production took over. Schories emerged through EPs and remixes, then used the album format to widen his range: “Herzensangelegenheit” appeared in 2012, followed by “Exit,” “Fields Without Fences” and later “Blitzbahn.” By the time of that fifth album, he described the process as a decade-long education rather than a fixed plan; the music had become darker and rougher as his technique changed. Founding SOSO gave him control over releases that did not fit his earlier label framework, and he summed up the lesson simply: do it yourself when you can.
