Bio

Demuir’s house music begins with the records and instruments of a Toronto childhood. His father, a classically trained guitarist from Trinidad and Tobago, filled the family home with Caribbean music, soul and jazz; Demuir first explored the Hammond B3 and later learned keys, bass, drums and percussion. Hearing Derrick May’s “Strings of Life,” then seeing May, DJ Sneak and Mark Farina at Toronto’s Industry club, connected that musical upbringing to house culture. Sampling remains important, but his studio has grown into a hybrid space where hardware adds physical colour: an Arturia MiniBrute supplies swinging sub-bass, while tube preamps roughen otherwise clean signals. Through Purveyor Underground, he releases his own work and provides a platform for related producers, keeping education and scene-building close to the records themselves.
