Agoria is the musical and visual-art identity of Sébastien Devaud. His work starts with the physical pull of house and techno but makes room for songs, film composition and experiments outside the club. Albums such as Blossom and Impermanence established that breadth, while his mixes bring disparate kinds of music into a shared narrative. He helped establish Lyon’s Nuits Sonores festival and co-founded InFiné before launching his Sapiens label in 2016.
That interest in crossing disciplines also informs his digital art. Working with artists and scientists, Devaud uses algorithms and information drawn from living processes to make generative works. His 2024 invitation to the Musée d’Orsay brought these concerns together through visual installations and music made for the museum. Club performance, collaboration and visual experimentation remain connected parts of a practice that keeps extending beyond the conventional producer’s role.
