Pleasurekraft explores techno on a cinematic scale. Kaveh Soroush and Kalle Ronngardh first reached a broad audience with Tarantula, then moved beyond its tech-house sound towards the heavier, atmospheric music they describe as cosmic techno. Their Kraftek imprint became an important setting for that development, allowing the project's identity to grow alongside a label of its own.
Kaveh's background in film studies and his tendency to visualise music help explain that direction. The Washington, D.C. scene, particularly Deep Dish and Yoshitoshi, supplied another set of reference points. Albums give these interests more room than a club single: On Growth and Form, released in 2024, brings the pair's non-club music into sharper focus.
Extended DJ sets and appearances at Spybar, EGG and Sound remain part of the project, but their own listening reaches far beyond techno. That breadth is important to a catalogue concerned with atmosphere and composition as well as the force of a dancefloor record.
