James Hype puts technical DJ craft at the centre of his house and tech-house career. Working across four decks, he combines rapid mixing with live edits, loops and vocal mashups, developing routines through sustained practice rather than relying solely on a finished track. His early experience came through parties and club nights around Liverpool before More Than Friends broke through in 2017. Ferrari, made with Miggy Dela Rosa in 2022, brought his productions to a wider international audience. Club-focused work remains important alongside those singles, including his reworking of WEISS's Feel My Needs for Toolroom. International touring has taken him from arena stages to residencies at Hï Ibiza and Zouk in Las Vegas. Through Stereohype, his label and wider creative platform, he releases dance-floor music and supports emerging producers; his teaching also extends the emphasis on preparation and hands-on DJ skills that defines his performances.
