About Volen Sentir

Bio

Volen Sentir’s Anjei and David met in 2013, initially drawn to one another’s solo work, and turned that exchange into a formal duo in 2017. Their music is patient and panoramic: deep house structures carry long melodic arcs, field-like textures and references to different musical traditions without losing their club pulse. During the disrupted touring years of 2020 and 2021, the Moscow-formed pair used the pause to experiment in the studio and develop a live direction, including the Magic Forest session. In a later interview, they described nature—especially walking in forests—as part of the balance that keeps their creative process open. Releases through Shanti Radio Moscow, Lost & Found, All Day I Dream and Anjunadeep established that approach across both vinyl EPs and wider compilations. Later releases link the same identity to “When Sun Rises” with Lost Desert and a remix for Z2, extending a discography built around gradual movement, atmosphere and close collaboration.
