Bio
Phazed Groove is the disco and house project of Scottish producer, musician and DJ Brian Hope. His career began behind the turntables in the late 1980s, with scratching and cutting leading into club work and a residency in Gran Canaria. Returning home, he taught himself keyboards and production, eventually releasing Live in Peace as Tocayo through Limbo Records in 1994.
The Phazed Groove name marked a return to his love of disco and funk, following earlier work under aliases including Funk Fiction. Tropical Disco Records became an outlet for that music, beginning with It Must Be Luv in 2019. His own Karbon Records gives him a further platform for house and nu-disco, with soul and funk remaining important reference points. Behind the different project names is a career that grew from handling records to learning how to make them.
