Bio

Fon.Leman is the project of Alexey Mazhaev, a producer whose melodic house and trance grew from a much wider field of experiments. Early influences included The Prodigy, Kraftwerk, Hybrid and The Crystal Method; his first productions explored breaks before moving through industrial music, techno and a hip-hop partnership called Petra Scandale. That curiosity also took him outside the studio. Recordings made at railway stations and construction sites became material for electronic music, alongside his interest in piano, melody and changing rhythmic textures. His album Constant Religion gathered those interests into a continuous mix, balancing more forceful tracks with lighter, spacious passages and collaborations with Shingo Nakamura, Vadim Soloviev and Cramp. Fon.Leman has been closely associated with Intricate and SkyTop. More recent work includes collaborations with Mona Mi and Alexey Sonar, while his Dimension & Perception mixes provide another setting for the progressive side of his sound.
