‌

Bio

Lex Loofah's route into house music ran through the record-shop culture of Huddersfield. Producer John Gilpin began working with Raz of Fourth Wave, first making a white-label release and then joining forces with Hotline for Jaco's Show Some Love. Further projects connected him with Warp and Positiva, while Lex Loofah became the name for his solo work, including Freaky Deaky. His career has kept production and DJing in close conversation. Sets at the Haçienda, Back to Basics and Cream sit alongside radio work that has paired his own selections with guest mixes from fellow producers. Later releases and collaborations with Stanny Abram extend that background into house and tech house, while his roots remain in the collaborative, independent culture of the early records.
