A DJ, producer and label boss firmly in the ascendency, Chris Stussy emerged onto the scene double quick time with a string of head turning house tracks, but what is important is that he has continued to back up that early promise years later. Now very much a key part of today’s house scene with a sound that is all his own, Stussy’s rise has taken him firmly into the spotlight as one of the scene’s most exciting names, and the Dutch wonderkid is only just getting started…

A long-standing love of early house music, but also raw production aesthetics and an understanding of jazz, disco and Chicago styles feed into his own unique take on the genre. As such, his sublime late-night cuts via the likes of Djebali, Moscow, Eastenderz, LOCUS, and PIV, where he is also charged with spotting new talent as the in-house A&R, often come with bumping drums and a bassline that is superbly slick and supple, whilst remixes for artists including the one and only Kerri Chandler welcome smart vocal samples and lush synth colours which add to the allure of his most seductive and warm house grooves.

As a DJ, Stussy is just as widely informed and draws on styles to suit the many different settings in which he plays. Main stages at Awakenings through to cult underground clubs such as Watergate (Berlin), fabric (London), Fuse (Brussels) and Elrow (Barcelona) all come under his spell in equally memorable ways, with tours of Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South America already in the books, plus regular appearances across Amsterdam’s finest venues. From long, slow, deep and tension building mixes to more high impact, quick chops and high energy cuts, he is a versatile selector who is always on the move.

And yet, after countless #1’s Stussy still continues to serve up heat at an alarming rate. Add to the mix the highly-anticipated launch of his own label ‘Up The Stuss’ - a vinyl-driven outlet for both Stussy and close friends and colleagues to release forward thinking, timeless club-driven productions from across the electronic sphere - and you begin to gain an understanding of just how well-rounded he is not only as an artist, but also as an A&R and a label owner. Yet despite being so prolific, the quality levels remain high, and while each new production shows a subtle evolution, they continue to feed into the singular Stussy sound that DJs and dancers have come to know and love.

More than any other producer, Todd Terry defined New York house during the ’80s, a varied sampladelic smorgasbord blending the sounds of classic disco, the more introspective Chicago sound pioneered earlier in the decade, plus plenty of hip-hop attitude and sampling piracy. And with two of the most respected crossover remixes of the house era («I’ll House You» by the Jungle Brothers and «Missing» by Everything but the Girl), Terry more than earned his title «Todd the God» (or occasionally, simply «God»). Though he’s often been accused of recycling his own beats and effects (in his production work as well as the DJ booth) a bit too often for his own good, Terry’s immortality as a dance icon is assured.

Born in Brooklyn, Terry began DJing in the early ’80s while still a teenager, spinning hip-hop at school events and on the street with a team called the Scooby Doo Crew. He increasingly listened to Italian disco as well, and when the house sound of Chicago dropped in the mid-’80s, Terry the DJ made an official switch to house music. In league with fellow New York DJ/producer/remixers Little Louie Vega and Kenny «Dope» Gonzalez, Terry borrowed the Masters at Work guise — which Vega and Gonzalez would later popularize — for one of his first big productions, the 1987 single «Alright Alright»; the single became a milestone on New York’s early house scene. The Jungle Brothers, another crew of hip-hop heads who were beginning to stray into house, hooked up with Terry and the collaboration resulted in «I’ll House You,» one of the earliest and most high-profile fusions of hip-hop and house (popularized several years later by C+C Music Factory and Snap!).

The added prestige transferred back to his own name for two wildly popular 1988 singles, «Weekend» and «Bango (To the Batmobile),» both released as the Todd Terry Project. Perhaps preferring the adoration of the faithful, Terry later resorted to dozens of aliases for dozens of club hits — Black Riot’s «A Day in the Life,» Gypsymen’s «Hear the Music,» Royal House’s «Can You Party,» Todd Terry & the Countdown’s «Flipside,» Torcha’s «Feel It,» D.O.S.’s «House of Gypsies,» Sound Design’s «You Can Feel It,» Tech Nine’s «Slam Jam,» and Static’s «Dream It.» Despite his wealth of released material, Terry remixed dozens of artists as well, including Sting, Björk, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Malcolm McLaren, Annie Lennox, Robert Plant, and Technotronic, among others. The British house boom of the early ’90s provided Terry with many an overseas gig, including a high-profile residency at the London superclub Ministry of Sound. His proficiency on the decks became a minor sensation, causing several British journalists to describe him as «God.»

Terry moved into label entrepreneurship in 1992 when he formed Freeze Records with William Socolov. (Several of Terry’s early singles had appeared on Socolov’s Fresh/Sleeping Bag label, also the home of rap acts like EPMD, Mantronix, and Nice & Smooth). Freeze became the obvious home for many of Terry’s productions, including several volumes of his EP series Unreleased Projects beginning in 1992 and running through 1995.

That same year, Terry’s remix of the erstwhile pop act Everything but the Girl became a worldwide smash, selling over three million copies and almost single-handedly reviving the duo’s flagging career for a sleek new dancefloor incarnation. The British label Hard Times released the DJ gig A Night in the Life of Todd Terry: Live at Hard Times in 1995, while the flip side of the coin, A Day in the Life of Todd Terry (including his best single and remix productions) appeared the following year. His next project, Ready for a New Day, provided more song-oriented fare, though still implicitly dance, with guest vocalists including Martha Wash, Jocelyn Brown, and Bernard Fowler. Terry made another artistic change-up, to LP-oriented drum’n’bass, with his 1999 album Resolutions, recorded for indie/electronica stalwart Astralwerks.

DJ/producer Prunk is working at his own pace, but this doesn’t mean he’s taking things slow. His label PIV, which he started in 2015, has been steadily releasing EP’s, like his own production ‘Sexy Brasil’ that was released on the imprint in the spring of 2016. Together with his sparring partner Chris Stussy, Prunk released the ‘Material’ EP on EWax in the winter of 2016 and the two also released ‘The Machine’ EP that came out on the notorious Nervous Records and EP’s on Moulton and Innercity Records. These EP’s caught the attention of vocalist Alex Mills, who you can hear on Miguel Campbell’s hit Something Special. Prunk and Mills hooked up in the studio with No Cure as a result. Other labels Prunk has released records on are: Electronique, City Soul and King Street.Next to producing Prunk is a resident dj for the major Dutch festivals DGTL and Straf_Werk, he is a regular at Jenja (Bali) and has played in Monaco, Barcelona, Zürich, Lille, São Paulo, Ibiza and at Awakenings Festival. His warm and sexy, but always dancefloor orientated and uplifting sound that finds its influences in artists like Kerri Chandler, Djebali, Mark Farina and Mr Ks is definitely attracting attention from promoters.After editions at Chicago Social Club and De Marktkantine Prunk’s PIV Label night has moved to Amsterdam’s freshest club Claire and already had an impressive first edition in April. Prunk will also host a PIV stage at The Ark, a cruise that will take-off from Barcelona sets sail to Ibiza.In 2017 you can see Prunk play at the following festivals: Labyrinth Open in Croatia, DGTL Barcelona, Welcome to the Future, Straf_werk festival, Dockyard and Amsterdam Open Air.

Oden & Fatzo, the dynamic French electronic music duo, have been making significant strides in the global music scene. Their journey began with the acclaimed house edit of Men I Trust’s “Lauren,” amassing over 80 million streams on Spotify. This success was followed by a standout live performance at Boiler Room during the 2022 FLY Open Air festival. Their unique blend of UK garage, uptempo minimal, and house beats—infused with funk, jazz, and hip-hop influences—has captivated audiences worldwide.

In 2023, they released “Lady Love” featuring Camden Cox under Defected Records, garnering 31 million streams on Spotify. This collaboration strengthened their relationship with the iconic label and expanded their global audience.

Their momentum continued in 2024 with a remix of David Guetta & Kungs’ “All Night Long” and iconic gigs at Cercle Festival, EDC Las Vegas, Electric Forrest Festival, Wembley Arena…

Then, their new track «&nbsp;Tell Me What You Want&nbsp;» with Poppy Baskcomb (who worked with Anima, Tiësto…) gathered 17 millions on Spotify in less than six month, and bringing them to a peak of 3.5 millions monthly listeners during the summer while continuing their partnership with Defected, with whom they played all over the world.

They spent two months in the studio working on their debut album which should be released on Defected during 2025. It contains numerous collaborations and the use of real instruments and musicians to take the Oden & Fatzo sound to the next level.
