Born in Sevilla, Pedro de Tena aka Dixie Yure is a cook by profession and a musician by vocation. Following Pedro’s earlier aclaimed works such as ‘’Disk That You Pain’’ , ‘’By Defection’’ on Nordik or his previous offerings on Flumo, this EP uncovers further explorations in jazz, soul and minimal fields. ‘’Clyde Bones Style’’ opens up with a swaying jazz-influenced drum pattern, slowly building the foun- dation for the minimal synth lines and setting a Detroit influenced, vocal sample based groove. ‘’Autumn Suite’’ brings down the tempo to a broken, trip-hop zone with layers of pads spiralling around the growling bass, setting a strong backing for more vocal soul samples to swirl around in a pot of juicy, warm sonic goodness. ‘’Bluefinn Tuna’’, with its quicker tempo and rolling drums, create a pattern easy to move to, while the piano melody, funky-filtered vocals and a trumpet line, add a jacking yet deep style to the ever-growing pallet of Jazzler. The rhythms retain their persuasive calling for one to get up and move, while the soulful vocal sam- ples, over the ever warm layers of synths and deep bass keep the depth and meaning of the music for the listener to discover.
