Chilean DJ/Producer Felipe Venegas is fast becoming a name synonymous with Jose De Divina and Javi Murdok's wonderful Climatic Sound label. Having already lent his talent (alongside Felipe Venegas) to remixing the 'Wapa EP' by Leix & Ronro, and Mate_U's 'Duna EP' alongside Andre Butano, the time has come for Felipe to sow his own Climatic seed with the 'Arturo Baila' EP. Venegas has been burning his own trail over the past few years, with stunning releases on Cadenza, Cecille, Immigrant, Cocoon, Kling Klong and Supernature. A much in demand DJ, he has played extensively in both South America and Europe and is currently enjoying another bumper summer season. A long way it seems, from his early years of studying music by day and escaping to Santiago's clubs by night. The relationship between movement and music was taught to him by his dancer father, and this can always be found in the devastating rhythms in his work. 2010 has already been a busy year for the young Chilean, with releases and remixes appearing on labels including Melisma, Bouq, International Freakshow, Fumakilla and Cecille. On 'Candela' Felipe harnesses more of those dancing rhythms and South American flavours, and with its super long intro, provides us with a perfect dancefloor igniter. On the flip 'So Free', Felipe teams up with Bari based Italian Domy. Together with the Bouq artist he calms things down with a more laid back, groovin' approach. Its smooth, throbbing keys and vocal drops make it perfect for those beach moments. On the remix of 'Candela', the label have drafted in the Gallic charms of Arnaud le Texier. The Safari Electronique boss turns in a gentle and sophisticated reworking that plays heavy on the sultry keys and handclaps, whilst keeping us on our toes by throwing FX and sounds.
