Chris Read

It's been a little over 3 years since Chris Read's last full length Hip Hop / Soul oriented release, 2022's Inner Tribe Remixed. While monthly mixtape style releases in collaboration with Wax Poetics filled out 2023, for the past year or so, (near) monthly vinyl drops from side project Suburban Architecture have been the focus. But it's time to get back to the beats . All 10 of these instrumental tracks sit in the classic Hip Hop tempo range, and are defined by warm, Jazzy Rhodes and Piano tones, accompanied by a mix of live instrumentation, electronics and in a few cases Soulful vocal hooks. They're structured to accommodate a full vocal, in some cases with hooks already in place, but also work as a collection of instrumentals. This is intented to be the first in a series of such releases - Music for Interiors.
