At a time when international media attention on the realities faced by young Iranians remains limited, we believe it is our responsibility as artists to raise awareness, share what we witness, and stand alongside our families, friends, and communities.

“Azadi” is more than a dancefloor record, it is a statement of resilience, unity, and hope. Through rhythm and movement, it transforms music into support and collective energy into action.

About a year ago, the label owner invited me to create an EP for the label. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to make something for the dancefloor. Dancing has always been an essential part of Persian culture a space for expression, unity, and a rare moment of freedom. That spirit is what inspired the title “Azadi” meaning “freedom” in Persian.

Once the tracks were completed, we began discussing the vinyl release and overall rollout. Meanwhile, the situation in Iran continued to worsen. At first, we considered postponing the release until circumstances felt more stable. But after careful reflection, it became clear that postponing was not the right response. Releasing this project now and using it as a platform for solidarity felt more urgent and meaningful.
