Trei has been one of the strongholders of the New Zealand drum&bass scene. Alongside The Upbeats and Concord Dawn he is one of the OG’s of what has become one of the biggest countries for the music globally. Especially now, when New Zealand has managed to overcome the pandemic and is putting on club shows and even festivals, while the rest of us are impatiently waiting to go back to raving, the place is the hotbed for all kinds of noisey pleasantries.

Trei has gathered an absolute a-team for this release, with promiment local legend Tiki and Australian beatbox hero Dub FX on vocals for Space & Time, and one of the strongest new acts, Flowidus, on My Eyes.

A few years ago, Dub FX was touring the world, and selling out insanely big venues across Europe, all off of the millions and millions of views on his Youtube vids, that saw him beatboxing, singing and rapping on a loopstation, and blowing people’s minds. From a street busker to an international musical hero! He’s now joined Tiki, who provides the incredible chorus for Space & Time, on top of expertly crafted beats by Trei himself. Meanwhile, the link up with Flowidus, which previously resulted in a release on Friction’s Elavate Recordings, delivers the deep and rolling stylings of “My Eyes”. Still with a touch of melody, it evokes a touch of melancholy, while at the same time pounding away on the sub bass. New Zealand is already enjoying these in raves and festivals on a weekly basis, and now we can get a taste too.
