4th Measure Men

An evergreen 90s club classic, ‘4 You’, produced by 4th Measure Men (one of the rarer production aliases of Marc Kinchen) in 1993, and originally released on the house maestro’s own Area 10 label, gets a new lease of life on 4 To The Floor. This release features five mixes of the title track including two of the original mixes by MK showcasing his blossoming signature house sound, as well as later remixes by Maya Jane Coles, 2000 and One and an upfront mix by DJ Steaw, now all available together on one release for the first time.

‘4 You' features MK’s signature 90s-era bumping bassline, sax accents and a vocal chop typical of all his very best work. In his remix he layers more percussion whereas Maya Jane Coles takes her production into deeper territory. With his remix created exclusively for the 2017 Defected compilation DJ Haus In The House, DJ Steaw brings things bang up to date, and finally Dutch producer 2000 and One puts his no-holds-barred stamp on the track with a peak-time remix. A jumpier more uptempo counterpart, the MK Dub of ‘Given’, another 4th Measure Men production, rounds off this completely timeless release.
