Founded in 2002 by DJ Gregory, Faya Combo gets a new lease of life with the re-issue of those classic records coupled with some previously unreleased, rare, and more obscure cuts have been sourced and compiled, highlighting this sublime catalogue of work, while bringing it to the attention of a wider and more diverse audience.

French born DJ Gregory began his explorations into house music in the early 90s when he was making pilgrimages to New York City to soak up the city’s music scene, bringing back with him the freshest dance music from the nucleus of American house. He made a name for himself as a DJ influenced by these imported beats, appearing regularly on Radio FG in collaboration with DJ Deep. Following several successful records in his fledgling production career, including his project Africanism with Bob Sinclar on Yellow Productions, Gregory set up Faya Combo as an outlet for his unique productions. Many releases from Faya Combo have striking Afro and Latin flavours, influences sustained by DJ Gregory’s travels to Brazil and Angola to work with local artists in those regions.

Soon after its release in 2003, ‘Elle’ became one of Faya Combo’s most celebrated releases. Featuring prominent percussion characteristic of Gregory’s iconic afro beat style, the 12 minute epic ‘Elle’ was supported heavily by then Ibiza residents Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, and ‘Little’ Louie Vega. This remix package includes five handpicked remixes, sourced and compiled to include the top re-works from leading global producers: Louie Vega (EOL Ritual & Criola Remix), Âme and UK’s Copyright.
