Made For The Night is the new compilation series conceived by Made To Play boss Jesse Rose, and allows an insight into all facets of an artist’s career. Not just another DJ mix compilation, ‘Made For The Night’ presents a disc of music curated for the dance floor and a second disc summing up their own work. 

The first in the series is mixed by Jesse Rose himself, the man responsible for twisting the template of house music as we know it over the last decade. Jesse has carved a name for himself as an innovator, uncovering some of the most ground breaking talent the underground has seen and finding a home for them on one of his three labels, Made to Play, Play It Down and Front Room Recordings. 

The first mix – Mixed For The Night’ – sees Jesse present the mix as he would a club set, intuitively building energy as he fluctuates between house and techno. After a tense opening with a previously unreleased instrumental version of Henrik Schwarz’s ‘Stop, Look & Listen’ he takes the listener on an emotional ride, one second dropping a Berghain fuelled banger from Loco Dice, the next resolving with what is quite possibly the most beautiful house record Maya Jane Coles has released to date, ‘Little One’. 

The second mix – ‘Produced For The Night’ – is the first time all of Jesse’s stylistically rebellious productions have been collected in one place. One glance at the tracklist and it is easy to fathom Jesse’s immense contribution to the scene. Whilst it was only natural to include his biggest remixes (Hot Chip ‘Ready For The Floor’, Underworld ‘Holding The Moth’) this mix also uncovers records even the most devoted of fans might have let slip. His tracks ‘Everyday This’ and ‘Asided’ are two of his most dangerous dance floor weapons. Other album exclusives include Osbourne & Anderson ‘Noho’ and Jesse’s ‘Shutters Open Dub’ of Hot Chip’s ‘Build A House’.
