Osunlade’s Yoruba Records label has always been the leader in the more spiritual spectrums of house. It has been over a decade since the first release and it is still considered one of the finest and most influential independent labels around. Its releases have been spun by pretty much all of those that really matter, from European deep house heads like Ame, Henrik Schwarz, Dixon, Ricardo Villablobos & Jazzanova, the US jocks like DJ Spen, Karizma, Francois K & Joe Clausell to the more soulful UK based  DJs like Phil Asher and Joey Negro to name just a few. It’s a label of high calibre, respect and reputation. 

‘Osunlade presents Yoruba Gold’ is the first of a new digital only series mixed by the unique Osunlade. With this compilation series he is relaunching the entire back catalogue of each label globally across a number of volumes, making a lot of the releases available digitally for the very first time.

On this first Volume Osunlade digs into his catalogues to create a mix that comprises of some of his most successful releases, forgotten gems and new releases. Here he bookends the compilation with arguably his most well known releases; Afefe Iku’s vibes ubiquitous anthem ‘Mirror Dance’ and Erro’s Soulful House anthem ‘Don’t Change’. In between he includes such releases as ‘Bodydrummin’, the Ron Trent remix of his brand new single ‘Butterfly’ as well as the beautiful Yoruba Soul mix of Nadirah Shakoor’s ‘Pride’.
