For our third release, Invection Series is proud to present Lack of Fate, a producer duo from Ceuta, Spain. With their distinctive creative vision, Lack of Fate brings a fresh energy that perfectly aligns with the spirit of the series. INVCTNS 003 There are moments when the world keeps moving—sharpening, blooming, erupting—yet one’s own signal is not received. Where everything hums at a frequency just beyond touch. This EP is the embodiment of that misalignment: the spectral sensation of being present and yet unreceived, of having the will to join but no passage granted. Ausente is not absence in the passive sense, but exile by resonance—an unspoken barrier between the self and the shared moment. Each piece unfolds like a forgotten message caught in static: almost decipherable, but never fully arriving. There’s tension without conflict, yearning without object, motion without participation. The feeling is not isolation, but a haunted stillness—where perception remains sharp, yet integration fails. Not rejected, not ignored… just unheard. In this sonic procession, Lack of Fate crystallizes the ungraspable: not pain, not numbness, but the echo bouncing right between them. 00. Apotheosis The EP opens in paradox. Apotheosis evokes elevation, transcendence, but here it is not granted as reward—it’s a side effect of detachment. The ascent is cold, unshared. Glitches and mechanical shifts pulse beneath a veil of synthetic pressure, like a body levitating through disuse. There’s grandeur, yes, but hollow—a shrine to the self when the world has stopped reflecting it back, fabricated off frustration. This track feels like being crowned by silence, by absence. 01. Now I Understand Realization, when it finally arrives, rarely brings relief. This track is not a eureka, but a slow, shattering nod. Like hearing a message too late to act upon, too late to fix. Its rhythmic phrasing stumbles over itself in minor stutters, repeating shapes that almost align but never seal. Synths swell then fracture, leaving behind a message that perhaps was never meant for this realm. Understanding doesn’t always reconnect—it sometimes explains why the bridge will never be rebuilt. 02. Rend to Heal Here the duality sharpens. The beat carries a raw urgency, an instinctual motion as if trying to claw its way back into immediacy. But the very act of healing is framed as a violent necessity: one must tear something open to let the new in. Tension coils around each strike, building towards catharsis that never quite permits climax. Rend to Heal feels like an attempt to recover one’s own reflection by fracturing what remains of it. You must wound the illusion to reach what’s underneath. 03. Ausente The final piece is the essence distilled. No longer chasing return, Ausente accepts the condition of orbiting reality without entering it. Its rhythm is subdued but persistent, like a message endlessly pinging across unreachable satellites. Pads blur, time bends, and space folds inward as if reality were reconsidering its own texture. This track is not about coming back—it’s about learning to live in the hollow. In being not here, there is a twisted peace. And in that void, the listener finally becomes part of something—even if it’s only the silence that surrounds, and the lies we tell ourselves over and over, the mirrors reflecting back to us.
