SR002 marks the label's return with a 4-track VA release curated to contrast subtle nuances between transient moments of heavy and light, percussive and driving. Housing four arresting productions, SR002 showcases sonic versatility by presenting respected producers who explore their signature sounds through fresh, compelling twists. Each track is linked through poised sound-design from the deep corners of techno. 

Opening the A-side, VNTM’s ‘May I’ gently unfurls with swirling percussion, softly pulling listeners into a melodic embrace. True to his signature style, the rhythms gradually blossom, moving from introspective subtlety, adding darker, more venomous textures. The interplay of these contrasting layers creates a rich, emotive opener that sets the tone for the journey ahead. 

Underground heavyweight Jerm takes the helm with ‘Scar Tissue,’ a peak-time weapon, the track fuses snarling grit with innovative production. This combination guides the track into dirty, obscure and psychedelic territories. Spellbinding rhythms and chaotic layers twist and loop into a deep, immersive descent. Drum patterns roll and surge with relentless energy, locking listeners into a breathless, throbbing chokehold. 

Creating a fresh contrast, Obscure Shape switches the B-side with a minimalistic ambience that unfolds through bubbling layers of sound. ‘What Connects Us?’ maintains sonic depth in a delicate and tentative way, driving the dancefloor forward in an unbeknown journey of hypnosis. 

Unexpected rhythmic switches and patterns of stark, oscilating melodies cement Italian producer Valentina Meiceli’s debut release. ‘Fact One’ aptly rounds off SR002 with a pounding and functional 4x4 production. 

SEXYRECS entices an intimate, steamy club setting with SR002.
