T_A_M returns to Serene Wood Sound with his first collection of new music in over two years.

blurrybird was inspired by and created whilst watching a long-time, non-bipedal companion slowly drift from reality. Failing senses and functions leading to a gradual, forced embrace of total stillness.

The music on blurrybird embraces and settles into myriad modes of stillness. The opening sounds of ‘under rosemary’ sets the tone with a warming blanket of filtered signals, harmonics and dubby echoes that evoke the feeling of being fully submersed.

‘the birds seem blurry now’ and ‘it makes you feel better’ offer a more uneasy perspective, perhaps more akin to paralysis or total stasis.

Whether in a queasy sea of square waves, seemingly endless tails of piano arpeggios, or in the distant echo of an old north-east melody, blurrybird’s 8 tracks don’t rush to get to their eventual destinations and make the most of the journey, however slow it may be.
