Monolog

MONOLOG & BALKANSKY fused ideas and combined strengths for the Excursion EP. 4 Tales of vacant industrial sites, spaces between heaven and earth and the humans that reside in this middleground. Both producers are veterans in their fields of fairly dark yet soulful expressions and venture into the abyss of human misery and capability to express the journey out of the misery into light. On this EP this contrast shines through, darkness is only understood since light and brightness is comprehended.
The track “Crows” start the EP trail with a beat less journey from industrial china to a 30 storage high hotel in the balkans glued together by soothing but dark textures and carried by these black birds across the track. The darkness is a re-occuring element of the entire EP, also found in the following track “Drop out”, a 4 minute story of loss, regain, weakness and in the end newfound strength to overcome. The track “Sea Storm” is a manifest of natures brutality overthrowing any thoughts still standing from the first 2 tracks guiding the listener into wild and unpredictable nature. The EP ends its journey from nature in culture, as monolog and balkansky comments on the civil war in Ukraine that by coincidence broke out while the 2 were in a studio session and improvised on top of live news feeds from the horrific scenes.
The producers have previously let their creations go on prominent labels such as: Ad noiseam, Subsistenz, Position Chrome, ABCD, Acre recordings, Signal Recordings, Trouble on vinyl, PRSPCT, Uhrlaut and many more.
