Drifta

Soul Trader comes up with the goods yet again with a brand new 15-track LP from producer Drifta. After releases on Med School, Formation, Celsius and Blu Saphir, plus a remix of a Nick Brewer track on Island Records, he comes with an album packed full of collaborations and fresh tunes. The LP is headed up with a six track promo, showcasing the best of the record, and featuring collabs with BCee, David Boomah, Hannah Eve and remixes from Total Science & Concord Dawn.

The full version of the release is going to be available on vinyl as well as download.

The first track is a supreme reggae-influenced classic entitled It’s All Over, featuring David Boomah. A strong start, this party jungle tune’ll leave all sound boy absolutely slayed. Feel the power of the music, because it isn’t all over until you hear this one. 

Drifta then teams up with BCee for Ghost, which has Hannah Eve on vocals. Those warm, musical notes that you would expect from BCee are front and centre, as rolling bass and punching drums complete the picture. A big tune, expect to be hearing this one everywhere.

Dive deeper into Drifta’s world on the beguiling Here With Me, along with Holly Hilton. Subaqua vibes dominate the mix, with Holly’s dreamy vocals riding across the top. Crunching, hardened kicks come in later, marking this one out as one to watch. Total Science take it to another level with their remix bringing a darker, moodier vibe.

The collaborations continue, this time with Kelly Pepper, on the drifting, gliding Walk Alone. This really is music at a higher level, music to love and cherish. The way the drums come in will take you away, if you’ve not come across Drifta before, now is the time to check him out.

The sampler concludes with the Concord Dawn remix of Antimatter, which features Audiosketch, Oversight, Static and MC Chaska. Aiming for something slightly different, this one is rough, rugged and raw. Closer Wings Of Dawn sums up all that the LP is about – musicality, difference and a breath of fresh air.
