Berlin-based label Konstruktiv return with the 1999 EP from up and coming producer Kevin De Vries.

Making waves since turning 18, the young German artist is set for big things, with the likes of Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann, Adam Beyer and Chris Liebeing showing support for his music. 1999 takes the form of one original track and three hefty remixes courtesy of label founder Rekord 61, Konstruktiv regular Kitkatone and Italian producer Shkedul.

Kevin De Vries justifies the hype with title track 1999 (Rave Mix), a straight up rave banger. A dirty acid line pulses in an out of focus, disappearing only to erupt back onto the track. Fast, powerful and a hugely effective dance-floor weapon. Hypnotic and on a slightly techier tip is Rekord 61's remix. The Konstruktiv boss kicks off in hazier territory luring the listener into a false sense of security until an acid loop kicks in with a forceful smack to the face. Kitkatone’s take on the track is in keeping with the Finnish producers' style of no-frills, dark, intense techno and rounding off the EP is Shkedul who drops an implacable heady monster. Dark, gritty and a bespoke fit for paranoia-inducing sets.

1999 drops April 4th on Konstruktiv.
