Steam Shape

The Steam Shape duo, after appearing on some of the leading labels of the scene, has established its own imprint, called Metaphase. The label's main purpose is to serve as a platform to express their musical ideas on a regular basis, occasionally welcoming guest artists. The first EP. 'Turning and Twisting' reveals a hidden story through three dance-floor oriented tracks.

First up is Ramble, which sets the tone for the rest of the EP, where the listener can start to discover the essence of the journey. It has a sort of scuzzy warehouse feel through the rigid grounding, that is expanded by the catchy synth riffs. The break emerges into euphoria, while building the tension slowly.

After the discovery, one can search for different pathways, and Seeking Destination is all about that. The heavily bouncy track is dominated by its heavy kick drum, that is complemented by other percussive elements. The vocal is leading our way through the whole track, the main synth hook accompanied by the game of the claps consummate in the breakdown in order to open up a new world.

Out Of The Maze is clearly one of the most heavyweight tracks of the EP. Being on the same edge as the other ones, it was built primarily on booming sub frequencies, delivering an instant magnetism. The synth elements powerfully set the dark mood, while they emerge slowly to  build another dimension in the breakdown. The main drop offers releasing emotions, as one would find its way out of a maze.
