Shaven

Right out of the gate the EP starts off with a well defined punchy kick in a 4/4
pattern at a higher tempo, deviating from Shaven’s previous slower paced
hypnotic body of work. “Racing Thoughts“ perfectly captures the esence of the
modern rave movement – no frills, push you to the edge of your seat, teeth
grinding techno. A simple delay infused pad melody with razor sharp hi hats
alternating for almost 6 minutes. An instant anthem for anyone just
discovering the rave lifestyle.

Just as “Racing Thoughts“, the second track “Illusion“ takes an “in medias res“
approach, instantly throwing the listener in a whirlpool of an uptempo bubbly
melody and rounded kicks. This track is a perfet blend of old school and
contemporary techno – melodic throughout to cling onto your ears, and fast
enough to get the blood pumping. A great track to let everyone on the dance
floor breathe while keeping the energy high.

“Another Dimension“ is a full blown ode to the 90s rave sound, but with a
modern twist. All the elements are there - from a cheesy trance-like melody, to
a mysterious gospel vocal sample that looms throughout the track. Although
all these elements feel very familiar the track encompasses the driving energy
of modern techno which keeps it fresh. It’s a track that just keeps giving and
doesn’t stop for big drops or breaks. A refreshing look back to the sound of the
90s while keeping it interesting for both younger and more experienced
audiences. A peak time track that will decimate everyone in its path.
