Bruno Sanchez

This represents a present-day look at the decline of an individual under the impression that he is indeed an artist.  Bruno Sanchez, a 'new' artist signed for life to Paradise Lost Recordings, brings us his first EP full of loosely associated sounds he considers 'tracks'.  Judge for yourself.  He copies more important artists in a minimal Drum'n Bass style with Claw Wing Tooth, which utilizes dusty radio samples from the 30's along with heavy evolving breaks to build a dark and campy, but weighty slab of something.  Then he goes completely off-the-wall and decides a 7/4 time signature fits 170 bpm and channels his inner demons for a legitimately spooky look inside the mind of an abuser in Volatility.   Rakoon finally brings Bruno back on track with sci-fi breaks peppered with signature neuro sounds on The Outer Track.  You're goin' into space, cowboy!  Bruno takes us off the rails again on Solid State Stereo Gold where he raises the middle digit to minimal Dubstep and brings us back to some proper breakstep and heavy sampling a la mid naughts Storming Productions - this one is basically a DNB roller at Dubstep tempo.  Thankfully, collaborator Mark Kloud puts a calming hand on Bruno's shoulder and brings him back to the dark side of the funk with their combined take on Solid State Stereo Gold (Dark Funk Mix) at 170 BPM.  All in all, a completely ignorable debut (if you don't count his track on DYL's amazing Sonder LP for Paradise Lost) by some dude who should move on to other pursuits.  But just like that naked German tourist standing right in front of you on the beach, you can't ignore it!  He'll be back to take more flack and attract more ridicule soon with other projects, don't you worry.  We apologize for any trauma this EP might cause you.
