In challenging times of social distancing due to the pandemic, the collaboration between Marcio Werneck (guitar, vocals) and Will Robson (DJ, programming) is a testament to the power of friendship and collective creativity, keeping the art alive. The duo, known as Will and Werneck (W2), studied together from primary school through high school in public schools in the Zona Norte (North Zone) of São Paulo, where they were born and raised.

Their musical partnership began in 1985 with the band Fábrica Fagus, a key player in São Paulo’s underground scene until 1992. The band was a pioneer, featuring two MCs on stage and blending funk, soul, ragga, dancers, and DJs, leaving a lasting legacy in the emerging hiphopfunksoul scene in the city.

Following Fábrica Fagus, Will and Werneck continued with various projects, including Caboclada and Unidade Móvel. Now, as W2ZN, a nod to the initials of their names and the Zona Norte where they grew up, they bring their own interpretation of samba, groove, breakz, boogie, and bossa. The song "Pra Levantar" is the cornerstone of this new project, built on a groovy acoustic guitar riff, uplifting lyrics, and a beat produced on the MPC.

Adding to the richness of the sound is the bassline from Dii Werneck and the precise notes of the electric piano played by Marcelo Maita, a member of the band Clube do Balanço. Without a doubt, their live performances will captivate audiences, keep the dance floor moving, and celebrate the day ahead.
